Aquilegia or columbines are spring blooming favorites of our
mountain gardeners. Another common name for this lovely plant is "Granny's
Bonnet." The images shown here were found at the nursery in late summer.
Detailed botanical names were not listed. Common natives are
A. canadensis - red columbine or A. coerulea - blue
columbine. A. vulgaris - common columbine is not a U.S.
native.
